The new school years gets kicked-off on Sunday, September 9 starting at 9:30am in the Fellowship Hall. Always a highlight of the year, we begin with a short time of worship and then spend the rest of the time working on service projects. This year we will again make pots of soup for Zion Mennonite’s Table of Plenty (please bring one ingredient or the soup (no pasta please!), make cards for our homebound members, fill 60 pencil cases for the 5th grade students at EMC Elementary School (see donation poster in Narthex), and assemble “Welcome to the Neighborhood” bags for the homes in the new development located at Hamlin Ave & 3rd Street. Everyone is invited!! Yes, bring a friend!
Also, we invite you to participate in the Upper Bucks Conference God’s Work Our Hands Day of Service activities at St. Andrew’s, Perkasie and Little Zion, Telford. The most recent statistics show that 41 million Americans, including 13 million children and 5.4 million seniors, don’t know where their next meal is coming from. Each year the Upper Bucks Conference bands together to do something about this. On September 9 at St. Andrews in Perkasie, we will be gathering together to package meals for Rise Against Hunger. Last year we packed over 30,000 meals! If you are interested in volunteering for this, and to get information for other service activities going on in the conference on September 9, please see the poster in the Narthex.
