Rev. Dr. Shirley S. GuiderSenior Pastor
Pastor Shirley Guider began serving as the Senior Pastor at St. Paul’s the first Sunday in Advent 2016. Ordained in 1993 she served as pastor to two congregations (St. Andrew’s and St. John’s Ridge Valley) from 1993-2008. While studying for her PhD, she completed the training as an intentional interim and has served as an interim or bridge pastor from 2008 to 2016. She was awarded her PhD in Theology and the Practice of Ministry with a concentration in pastoral theology in 2014. Before being ordained Pastor Guider worked as an RN first in oncology, then ICU. After completing her MSN at Yale University she worked at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania in behavioral health focusing on geriatric psychiatry. She had taught as an adjunct both as a nurse and as a pastor.
Pastor Shirley was born in Tokyo Japan (her father spent 30 years in the Air Force) and has lived in many places throughout her life. After completing college she was commissioned in the Air Force as a 2nd Lieutenant serving both active duty and in the National Guard. Pastor Shirley and her husband Steve met doing theatre with the Laymen Playmen and have been married for more than 20 years. Steve’s daughter and her husband have recently moved back to Pennsylvania which means that they are able to see their granddaughters Libby and Ellie more often.
John HuberAssociate Pastor of Senior Ministry
Pastor John Huber serves as Associate Pastor of Senior Ministry. Retired from full-time ministry since 1998, Pastor Huber served pastorates at Christ Lutheran Church, Freemansburg, PA and St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, Audubon, PA for 22 years. From 1984 through 1998, he served in Social Ministry as President of Services to the Aging at Germantown Home, Philadelphia, Administrator of Meadowood at Worcester, PA and Executive Director at The Kendal-Crosslands Communities in Kennett Square, PA. Pastor Huber and his wife “Maggie” live in Franconia. They have four sons and eleven grandchildren.
Marian HenryDirector of Christian Education
Marian began serving as Director of Christian Education in October, 2013. She worked for 15 years as a computer software engineer before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She later went back to school, receiving a degree in Organizational Management from Eastern University. After attending Eastern, she held the positions of Director of Children’s Ministries at Gloria Dei, Huntington Valley and Youth and Family Ministry Coordinator at Emmanuel, Souderton. Marian loves reading, studying, and teaching the stories found in God’s word and reminding children, youth and adults that they were created by a loving God who has blessed, chosen, gifted and loved them from before time!
Marian lives in Souderton with her husband Mark, and three grown children Victoria, Katherine and David. She loves to sing in St. Paul’s Chancel choir and also sings with the Philly Pops Festival Choir. A lifetime member of DCP Theatre in Green Lane, Marian enjoys performing in musicals and helping out by greeting guest attending the shows.
Kris FosbennerDirector of Music/Organist
Kris, St. Paul’s Director of Music, graduated from Gettysburg College with a BA in economics. She is a lifelong member of St Paul’s. Mrs. Fosbenner has many years of experience as a singer in a choir (church of schools) and as an accompanist both for choirs and musical productions. Becoming St. Paul’s Organist and Director of Music in 2008 filled a lifelong dream of playing the organ for her home congregation. She feels so blessed to be on the music staff at St Paul’s. She enjoys working with the different members of the music staff coordinating the music programs and helping to enrich the musical life of St. Paul’s for both members and visitors.
Ashley BromleyOffice Administrator
Ashley began serving as the office administrator for St. Paul’s in February of 2016. Before coming to St. Paul’s, she worked for ten years in the retail and customer service industries. In Ashley’s spare time, she enjoys reading, spending time with family and friends, and singing or playing music. Ashley lives in Souderton with her husband Chris and her son Cole.
Mike KingFeast & Celebration Leader
Michael King has been the director of Feast & Celebration service since it’s start in 2012. He has been a life long musician and singer in the Lutheran church. Mike also enjoys singing in the choir and playing guitar for the children in Sunday school.
