Director of Children and Youth Ministries

We’re Hiring a Director of Children and Youth Ministries!

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Telford, PA, is looking for someone to help children and youth grow in faith and feel connected to our church community.

This person will provide leadership, planning, and support for programs including Sunday School, youth events and activities, and Vacation Bible School. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, can collaborate with volunteers and staff, and shares an understanding of the Christian faith in keeping with the ELCA.

This is a part-time position (20–25 hours per week). Salary will be based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support children’s and youth programs, including Sunday School, youth activities and events, and Vacation Bible School.

  • Select curriculum and help plan opportunities for children and youth to learn, serve, and participate in worship.

  • Recruit, train, and support Sunday School teachers and other volunteers.

  • Work with the pastor on First Bible, First Communion, and confirmation programs.

  • Collaborate with church staff and committees, promote upcoming activities, and share updates with Church Council.

Qualifications

  • A commitment to Christ and an understanding of the Christian faith consistent with the teachings of the ELCA.

  • Background and experience in the ELCA or an ELCA full communion partner, along with knowledge of ELCA teaching and educational materials.

  • Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and technology skills.

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred.

  • Ability to complete the required Pennsylvania criminal history and child abuse clearances and FBI fingerprinting before starting.
    St. Paul’s pays for these clearances.
